Cariño, when you’re more than fond of somebody, honey, affection, love. I find myself feeling dreamy colors when I think of my muse.

I embellish this work with the Saint Benedict amulets, this icon is commonly displayed in domestic spaces throughout the borderland. It is used as protection from negative energy and spirits. I offer that same protection to the space and viewer.

My color palette, surfaces, materials create visual references from the Chihuahuan desert landscapes across West Texas. I crave the rosy pinks in our sunsets. I miss my home, my work pays homage to this special place in El Paso Texas.
